They may not have had more of the ball but Napoli looked comfortable in a routine win over Parma to regain fourth position in Serie A before Roma played Verona.
Parmas greater possession turned into just one shot on target, while Napoli did look more deadly. Elif Elmas opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark with a superb finish, running with the ball from 40 yards out, weaving in and out of defenders before slotting past goalkeeper Luigi Sepe.
Napoli had other chances, but it was not until substitute Matteo Politano pounced on a clearance in the 82nd minute that they extended their lead. His deflected shot settled the tie and meant that Parma remain in the relegation zone, while Napoli remain nine points off leaders Milan with a game in hand.
